The St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral on 34th Street and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan celebrated their 50th anniversary the weekend of May 5 with a concert and liturgy with over 500 people in attendance. The curators wanted an exhibition that would spark memories in the visitors. The exhibition begins with a striking wall of gleaming gold vinyl and imagery of birds, which evokes the annual Armenian ceremony of “Releasing of the Doves.”
The timeline also features this triangular motif to reference the dome and tells the story of the Cathedral both in time, and in theme.
