Johanna Goldfeld Design specializes in graphic and exhibition design that educates and inspires. For over a decade we’ve helped museums, cultural organizations, and businesses visually communicate their stories.

Our specialty is turning vast amounts of information, images, and art, into clear, accessible, and visually appealing displays and publications to engage and impress your visitors and constituents. As one of our clients always says… “we can turn water into wine!”

With a robust network of experts, we can create a team targeted to your project. We believe in not only sticking to a budget, but finding sustainable design solutions that make sense for you. We have a nimble managerial approach, and keen eye for detail (watch out, we catch typos!). Our clear and consistent communication, coupled with our mastery of production techniques enable us to deliver stellar projects on time and in-budget.

Bonnie Kirschstein, Managing Director

The Forbes Galleries

...She continues to figure out new and exciting ways to marry the content of a given exhibit with the graphic scheme so that they speak to each other seamlessly.... her managerial skills, in combination with her curatorial background and lovely demeanor make her a true asset to our team.

Dewey Blanton, Communications

National Academy

Johanna is amazingly talented and a joy to work with...She deftly balanced the many competing interests — which included a few artists who fashioned themselves as designers — and created a piece that is at once practical, user-friendly, and accessible.

Warren Klein, Curator

Bernard Museum of Judaica

Congregation Emanu-El

After wanting to work with Johanna for a few years, our Barbra Streisand exhibition was great timing. Johanna’s approach to bring just the right amount of whimsy, clean lines and a keen eye was the perfect fit for the subject matter...

Nancy Johnson, Curator

Museum at Eldridge Street

...I was so pleased with her work that we have used her for six exhibitions..She is a team player in the best sense: taking direction, providing a creative response, responding to requests for change, and finally getting it all into production.

Carol May, Senior Partner

May+Watkins design

...The designs that Johanna created are artistic, beautiful and appropriate. Each one is a lovely artwork in itself. I could not have asked for more. In addition, they mesh wonderfully with our sculptures. Her files and technical work were perfect...

Sandra Shahinian Leitner

St Vartan Armenian Cathedral

Johanna was so very helpful in coaching our team; we were passionate about our subject matter, but had little experience in curating an exhibition....She also grasped the sacred nature of the project while applying her artistic sensibility...Her skills extend beyond the visual and technical abilities of a designer.

Miles C., Student

Intro to Graphic Design

I feel strongly that I learned more in this class than any other. I was scared of dealing with the new computer program but was made to feel comfortable with it. I never knew how just type alone could make things look nice.

Tami B., Student

Information Design

Professor Goldfeld's strength would be her bright and vivid persona, and patience with all of us. She help her students, is understanding, and always comes to class with a smile on her face.

Rebecca C., Student

I learned how to incorporate my design into an exhibition setting. The instructor plans out each class lecture and project very thoroughly. Her critiques have helped me improve my design and improve the professionalism of my presentations.
