The National Archives in New York City moved to a new space in the third floor at the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House in lower Manhattan. They had the opportunity to do an inaugural exhibit in the majestic Rotunda in the lobby.
Roger Westerman designed " The Worlds Port" which explored aspects of the Port of New York using documents and photographs from the National Archives including deck plans for the Titanic and a deed of gift for the Statue of Liberty. I drew from motifs and typefaces in the documents to develop a cohesive graphic system and color palette, and executed the graphic production of a complex display of photographs.
This exhibit helped raise awareness about the great resources available in their Welcome, Research, and Learning Centers upstairs.
